This variation of the Chuck Taylor is part of the CONS skate line. Simple black canvas with white stitching. I like the tapered ankle, and I would much prefer these over the regular Chuck Taylor Hi. Available at Huf.

Converse is incorporating nylon into the Chuck Taylor Hi, much like it did for the Poorman’s Weapon. The military look is in full effect, especially in the olive colorway. It’s also available in black. Both sport an orange liner, and the always classic white sole. These are currently available at select Converse retailers, including Shoe Gallery in Miami.

Emerica continues to keeping it nice with a slew of vegan models for this coming fall. Unlike last time, I will actually post all of the pictures, but if you don’t believe me, go to the Emerica site and see for yourself. I personally am feeling the Hsu shoe, this time offered in a more accessible black (as opposed to green), and the ultra clean Romero in white. They even have tie-dye for you hair farmers! Something for everyone! Keep it up Emerica.
Here is another great Vans shoe that is vegan and incorporates eco concepts. The Raglan is made out of recycled bottle canvas and uses water based glues and inks. I like the Wallabee style too. Not sure if the grey one is also vegan, since it looks like canvas… the description is vague, but I think the black is the only one made of “PET.”

Just when you thought they’ve issued the Slip-On in every possible color… Vans continues to surprise and impress. These colorful “Guata Stripe” joints are a colorful canvas or other textile, reminiscent of a Mexican blanket or possibly a “baja.”
