Bourgeois Boheme Janus

It seemed like people were feeling the Desert Boot by Vegetarian Shoes.  I know that I tend to repeat a lot of the same looking kicks, so I’m taking note when people respond.  Anyway, I hope I’m not being redundant, but here we have some desert boots by Bourgeois Boheme, perfect for the winter.  The Janus is something a little different.  For one, it’s not fake suede, but fake nubuck.  So it should be a little smoother and less grainy to the touch.  Also, it’s a sleeker shape, a narrower toe.

Keds Champion Chukka

Found another Chukka – I hope I’m not being redundant.  The Champion Chukka from Keds is about as simple as it gets.  This pared down, understated style has worked for the company so far.  Once known for being casual sneakers for young women, it’s largely broken out of that mold.  They’ve also been aggressively trying to cash in on the retro basketball shoe craze with their Pro-Keds line.  The good thing is that, like Converse, they work equally well for girls or guys.

I’ve also added a tag just for Chukkas.  There are a bunch here already, and more to come.  It’s probably convenient for you, if you like the style, to be able to browse the many varieties.  Hope this helps!

Available at Zappos.

Nike SB Zoom FP

I just got the scoop from tall mike about these new Nike SB Zoom FP that are poised for release.  In my opinion, it’s a slight departure from the more retro models that’ve been working so well for them (i.e. Janoski, Salazar).  It’s a modern, even futuristic design – all synthetic materials, of course.  The colors are pretty muted, this one being black/gray/white/red.  It is probably geared more towards performance than anything, and the performance and all that R&D comes at a price, these are reported to be retailing for $104!  Keep your eye out for the release, and for new colorways.

Air Jordan V.2 Grown

Props to Justin for giving me the scoop on this one.  As many of you know, Jordan is a Nike brand that originated with MJ (not Michael Jackson, may he rest in peace), the G.O.A.T. in hoops history.  The first Air Jordan came out in 1985, and changed the sneaker game forever.  I’m not sure when Nike made Jordan its own brand, but I know its been around for maybe ten years.  That brand has an air of exclusivity, such as the selective sponsorship of athletes hand picked by the man himself.  It seems like anything associated with Michael Jordan has this aura of exceptionalism.

Creative Recreation Cesario Black

I don’t think I can resist anything with all black upper and white sole, especially the mids.  If I overdo it, let me know.  I try to keep things slightly diverse, but I am a slave to my biases.  Here is a clean one by Creative Recreation, the Cesario.  It has a little more detail in the panels, as well as the strap over the toe.  Pay no mind to the description – the shoe is clearly all canvas.  The leather model must be in another colorway.  Enjoy!

Available at Karmaloop.

Queen x Vans Authentic

In one of the more puzzling sneaker collaborations of the day, Vans is celebrates Queen with its own Authentic in black denim.  Oookay.  Vans, as a skate and surf company, could not be anything farther from this 70′s British classic rock band.  You know what, whatever.  Denim seems to be really popular as of late, and I’m feeling the black material.  This color is contrasted with red accents, along with a Queen tongue logo, and album prints on the sole.  Nothing celebrates a band like stepping on symbols of its life’s work, right?

Available at Primitive.

Fred Perry Foxx Wax

The Fred Perry Foxx Waxx is another ultra slim and low canvas lace up to add to your collection.  Not much to say about these.  Waxed canvas upper, some kind of rubbery rubber sole, round laces.  Either you dig the style, or you don’t!  Available at Zappos in either black or olive green.  Click below for more pics…

In4mation x Vans OTW

DAMN, these are dope.  I made one of those high pitched “oooooooo” sounds on first glance.  In4mation, the Hawaiian skate shop, does it again!  This time, with Vans OTW in denim.  But unlike that Dunk Hi I featured a little while ago, this one has the great dark/light contrast, with the bright white laces and red accents throughout.  The brown-ish sole looks great too.

Keep Dorian

Keep is known for its laid back style and use of interesting materials + patterns you don’t see at your Foot Locker.  The Dorian is slightly different than their traditional offerings but stays true to the company’s look and feel.

Something I haven’t seen before, and now is becoming common this season, is synthetic micro suede.  The name pretty much explains it.  According to a handy Chinese sourcing website, it is made out of “nylon ultra-fine fiber island and PU resin.”  (for a more detailed description click here).
