UPDATE 9/24/12: Three Leaves just put these kicks on sale, over 50% OFF. Get some before your size runs out!
Summer is over for most of us, but it’s not too late to get into some boat shoes. The Mediterranee by Veja is a nice twist on the boat shoe, with a large contrasting panel running down the midfoot. This shoe is vegan (as all Veja shoes are to my understanding), made of fair trade cotton and spandex, plus water based glues. It’s also got some serious eco credentials – the organic cotton is from Ceara, Brazil, and the rubber is sourced from the Amazon restoration project.
Available in colors Ice Marinho and Navy London at my new favorite shop, Three Leaves. This online men’s clothier, started in 2012 and based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, sells exclusively cruelty free, environmentally aware, socially responsible clothing, footwear and accessories. I immediately wanted to buy everything in there. The stuff is high quality but not pretentious, a sweet spot that is difficult to hit nowadays (for me anyway). Basically if you’re in my demographic, this place is for you. As they put it, “Three Leaves aims to be the source for ethical fashion for the man who lives without compromise.” Check out wethreeleaves.com.
More pics of the Mediterranee after the jump! Oh and note that the Veja Taua (also featured here), also available at Three Leaves, is vegan (available in grey black and dirty sky). The V branding on the side panel is synthetic leather. Enjoy!
