Denim Kicks

I was inspired to make a list of some dope denim kicks for you all after reading about the soon to be released Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III (pictured above).  Unfortunately, I can’t gather enough intel about this shoe to determine whether the swooshes are leather or not, but got a list of some other choice picks which have no leather in the upper.  I’m not sure whether these are 100% vegan, I haven’t vetted them all with regard to the glue.  But if any of you guys own a pair, or know, please leave a comment.  Thanks and enjoy!

  1. Asics don’t have swooshes, maaaaaan. Nikes have swooshes.

There are some denim Nike Air Max 90s on sale at various sneaker stores now. They’re red and super dope looking.

  2. For what its worth most standard release gel lytes are totally synthetic, even the ones that are listed as suede/leather actually have synthetic uppers.
For example http://www.endclothing.co.uk/asics-gel-lyte-iii.html, despite the description are totally synthetic.
Also, I dont think I remember seeing any mention of Nike Hyperfuse on your blog, those are also all vegan.

  3. Hey Jamie, thanks for the comments. I always suspected that the Hyperfuse were synthetic. Well if you look at it it’s pretty obvious. But I never made sure. Do you have firsthand knowledge of this? I will also investigate with Nike.

  4. Hi Henry,
I can confirm that the hyperfuse are totally synthetic in construction (its essentially a plastic sort of material), I have a pair of the Air Max 90s. The Air max 1s are also totally synthetic and I would assume that the various other models that they have done in hyperfuse (dunks, air max 95 etc) would be too but I can only say with 100% certainty that the Air Max 90 and Air Max 1s are vegan as those are the only ones that I have seen in the flesh.

  5. That’s good to know Jamie, thanks. I don’t suppose anyone knows which pairs are standard release?

  6. all asics that are made out of 100% synthetic materials are vegan. ( the glue doesn’t contain animal products)
