Hello VK nation! It’s taken forever but the weather is finally turning around here in New York. And now is the perfect time to give a big shout out to Vogas Barcelona. We ran into Vogas at the Renegade Craft Fair a while back, and they were so generous as to hook us up with a pair of their dope espadrilles. Since it was November back then, we put these on ice. When it was right, we took them out for a spin. Click below for more photos.
Wills does it again! Pictured above is their new unisex Backpack. Made with pebble grain faux leather, this stylish bag looks right at home next to something from Matt and Nat. But we really dig the simplicity and versatility of this one more than any other faux leather bag we’ve seen . As with all Wills products, this is 100% vegan and ethically made in Portugal. It has a front organizer compartment and two interior compartments. We love that the inside is waterproof, in a dope contrast red color. If you’re toting around a laptop, they got you too – this bag fits up to 14″ machines.
Available at Wills for $122 (click on link to site for more pictures too)
Recently, TOMS was awarded the Compassionate Business Award by PETA. But you say, TOMS isn’t even a vegan company?! They sell a lot of leather shoes! That’s exactly what we were thinking. PETA says “companies like TOMS are stepping up with vegan shoes and accessories to keep you cruelty-free from head to toe.” We were a little skeptical so we hopped on over to TOMS site and we were pleasantly surprised by their expanded collection of animal-friendly products. Before, they only had a few colorways of their now ubiquitous espadrille. Now they have a few different lace up sneakers and even a flip flop.
While we are still waiting for the day this undoubtedly good intentioned company goes fully cruelty free, we are comfortable sharing their current men’s vegan selection as of spring 2016. Womens’ styles to come in a separate post. Note that we are not showing all available colorways. For that, go here.
We got another vegan offering from our friends from Saucony. Previously we featured a limited collection with BAIT, but now it appears that the Shadow is available in two cruelty free colorways. Uppers are all canvas, like the Jazz Low Pro and Bullet. They’re all good, hopefully Saucony will continue to expand their vegan shoe repertoire!
Both colorways (black and grey) – are available at Zappos.
Well, winter is here, isn’t it? The timing of this post is not coincidental. SNOWZILLAGEDDON has blanketed much of the east coast with a huge amount of snow and it’s a major wake up call to a lot of us, who are now looking out our windows and seeing a nice thick white carpet covering everything. Now comes the fun part – shoveling our driveways, digging out our cars, or trudging through the grey mush that will fill our streets for the next week. We all need to be prepared, and fear not, readers – vegan winter boot options are plentiful. See below for a few tasty selections sure to keep your feet warm and dry.
There comes a time when you realize that you need to make a change. This site has been up and running for 5 years plus now. Sometimes it’s been good, sometimes it hasn’t been up to par. Recently, I have to say that it hasn’t been great, and I think it’s time to admit we need some help.
Vegan Kicks is looking for a partner, not just a contributing blogger. We need a person who knows what we are about and is interested in participating in every aspect of the site, from writing to design to social media. We are willing to share all that we know, and give you freedom to go in new directions. There will be some immediate benefits and potential for bigger things down the road, as readership is consistent and the demand for this information is only growing.
If you are interested, please send us a message here or an email to email@example.com. Let us know your thoughts, and we’ll talk. Thanks so much for your support, we look forward to hearing from you.
Hey there, just wanted to post some new styles of Onitsuka Tiger by Asics up here. Looks like there are a bunch of colorways available in the Ultimate 81 and the California 78. The black black colorway of the California 78 looks a lot like the Adidas Samba – a great vegan alternative to this popular shoe.
All colorways pictured here are available at Zappos.
Happy New Year everyone! Today we are happy to announce that the winner of our Luca Chiara giveaway is Adi! She is pictured above, sporting the handsome Antonio Weekender which was so kindly made and provided by Luca Chiara. As you can see below, this bag is great for all types of jobs, including carrying around kitties – Dracüla approves! It also just so happens that Adi is a blogger herself, and we highly recommend you check out her site Vegetarian Courtesy. She offers a lot of unique insight into vegetarianism and life in general. She writes in two language, and there’s a lot of sweet artwork.
What’s up squad. Today we’re looking at some footy wear for the little ones. We here are so used to sharing the kind of stuff we want to wear, but we know that a lot of you are looking after smaller human beings who can’t really buy things on their own. And you want to make the ethical choice for them as well – respect! So when we came across these kids shoes by Native, we were psyched. Mostly because they are exactly the same as the adult shoes, which we love.
