We got another vegan offering from our friends from Saucony. Previously we featured a limited collection with BAIT, but now it appears that the Shadow is available in two cruelty free colorways. Uppers are all canvas, like the Jazz Low Pro and Bullet. They’re all good, hopefully Saucony will continue to expand their vegan shoe repertoire!
Both colorways (black and grey) – are available at Zappos.
Hey there, just wanted to post some new styles of Onitsuka Tiger by Asics up here. Looks like there are a bunch of colorways available in the Ultimate 81 and the California 78. The black black colorway of the California 78 looks a lot like the Adidas Samba – a great vegan alternative to this popular shoe.
All colorways pictured here are available at Zappos.
What’s up squad. Today we’re looking at some footy wear for the little ones. We here are so used to sharing the kind of stuff we want to wear, but we know that a lot of you are looking after smaller human beings who can’t really buy things on their own. And you want to make the ethical choice for them as well – respect! So when we came across these kids shoes by Native, we were psyched. Mostly because they are exactly the same as the adult shoes, which we love.
A few weeks ago we joined our good friend Mike for an evening session with his Huf Classic Lo in Heather Grey. We hit up some spots around his hood and took some great photos. We want to thank Huf for hooking us up with this sample, and for more info on their vegan shoes, we did a recent roundup. Mike also wrote a short review for those who are interested in skating these. See below for more photos and words.
Hello internet people, we are very sorry we have been on hiatus for so long. We had some offline stuff to take care of which stole away precious time to continue our work on VK. But we’re back and we have a good one for you today. Many of you have checked out the site by Vegan8, and especially his shoe surveys which lays out very simply which shoe companies offer vegan shoes. We learned recently that he completed his 2015 survey, so we wanted to share that with you as soon as possible. In addition to sharing his site, we wanted to re-post his table here, but annotated with some of our comments. Don’t forget to click on the brand links – Vegan8 has provided additional information, including the exact correspondence and links to the relevant site within the company.
We’d also like to add that this is a great reference but it is by no means comprehensive. This entire site isn’t either but it can be used as one big resource for finding various companies policies. We find that the best way to do so is to browse by tags, or by search. Some of our information is dated but feel free to email or comment if you have any particular questions. Thanks again for visiting and keeping this site going – we are psyched that so many people around the world are going cruelty free!
Today we’re taking another look at the Stealth L from Vivobarefoot. As you may recall, Vivobarefoot is a trail and running shoe company that specializes in barefoot running – minimally padded, flexible shoes that let your feet do your own thing. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a pair, and asked our friend and experienced runner Pooja to test out a pair. More after the jump…
Today we are giving a big shout to our friends from Avesu Vegan Shoes, a Berlin based ethical shoe and accessories shop. Avesu was founded in 2010 as an online only shop (and like many a successful business, started in someone’s apartment). Their founders felt the same way we did when we started this blog – that it was really hard finding good vegan shoes. They decided to launch a business that filled this need and of course, doesn’t profit from any suffering. Five years later, these guys have three physical stores in Berlin and a revamped, English friendly online shop.
Hi all, today we bring you our occasional update on the vegan models of Onitsuka Tiger by Asics. We didn’t get the full list this time, so we’re just putting out the Ultimate 81 colorways that are currently available on Zappos. Enjoy, and please post in the comments section or email us (email@example.com) if you have updated information on other models.
Hey all, this week we bring to you a selection of Adidas running and trail shoes. Recently, we have declined to promote Adidas, because they have never been forthcoming regarding their glues. However, we got in touch with Vickerey, a Colorado based shop that is vegan friendly and also sells Adidas. They obtained written documentation from all the factories which they work with at Adidas stating that the products and adhesives do not contain any animal or animal derived products. Upon further inquiry, we found out that they work with only four factories, so we don’t know for sure whether others have the same manufacturing standards. But for now, we feel comfortable promoting the specific shoes sold by Vickerey, which offers a nice selection of high end running and trail shoes (for men and women), with a casual boat shoe slipped in there. Some even have Gore Tex, the waterproof material that’s found on rain and winter coats. All contain synthetic uppers and animal free glues. More pictures after the jump!
Today we are happy to feature shoes from Huf, a company that sorta blew up out of nowhere to become one of the premier brands of classic skateboarding style. We were super pleased when they informed us that they make a bunch of vegan friendly styles. This is what it’s all about – dope, functional sneakers for those who choose compassion. VK will continue to find and promote brands that provide vegan alternatives so that you readers can shop a little easier. We hope that you like these, and if you have any suggestions on particular brands or shoes that you like but aren’t sure if they are vegan (and they’re not on this site), hit us up! We’ll do the work and find the answers for you.
Enjoy the photos and visit the Huf footwear site for more info. A variety of Huf shoes are also available at Zappos.
