Denim Kicks

I was inspired to make a list of some dope denim kicks for you all after reading about the soon to be released Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III (pictured above).  Unfortunately, I can’t gather enough intel about this shoe to determine whether the swooshes are leather or not, but got a list of some other choice picks which have no leather in the upper.  I’m not sure whether these are 100% vegan, I haven’t vetted them all with regard to the glue.  But if any of you guys own a pair, or know, please leave a comment.  Thanks and enjoy!

Nike SB Stefan Janoski White/White

Caught another Nike SB Stefan Janoski in canvas/stitched swoosh in all white.  The blanket whiteness would be a little too much if it wasn’t offset by the blue piping and lacing.

Available at Premier.

Nike SB Janoski Canvas Mid Black/Red

This Nike SB Janoski Canvas Mid in red and black was spotted recently, but unfortunately this won’t be a wide release.  This will be in store only at a few select retailers.  Fortunately, my buddy Karam was able to get one of these already at Blue Tile Lounge and there was no sign of any leather on the inside.  So grab these while you can!

Nike SB Stefan Janoski (metallic silver/jersey fleece)

It took a while, and some false starts, but I think it’s finally safe to report a completely non-leather Stefan Janoski by Nike.  And in a little surprise move, they decided to opt with jersey fleece instead of canvas.  While I have never worn a shoe with the fleece, I’m guessing it’s not good for skating at all.  I imagine that it would rip up rather quickly.  I doubt they were thinking of function when they thought of this one.

Unfortunately it only comes in one metallic silver colorway.  You can get these at Tactics and CCS.

Sorry I didn’t post any more pictures.  You can go to Tactics and CCS for some super zoomed in and 360 degree views.  Enjoy!

Nike SB Bruin Black Canvas

Man, sorry all for being so delinquent lately.  I just relocated back to New York City!  Yes yessss.  I’m happy to be back.  But moving is such a pain in the ass – taking apart all the material things in your life and re-assembling it is such a chore.  I need to get rid of some stuff, seriously.  And being back in the city, there is just so much more going on!  This is a plus/minus.  One of the minuses is that you can get sidetracked from your routine, like for example, blogging.

But enough of my personal crap.  Spotted by Tall Mike – these fresh Nike SB Bruins.  In all black canvas, with gum sole, and camo inner.  Pretty sweet combo.  Unfortunately, Premier is selling these only in stores.  Post a link if you see any of these babies online!

Nike SB Harbor Canvas

Hey guys, sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately.  I am not updating this blog as much as I should.  But I just wanted to fire off a quick one.

This is the Nike SB Harbor in black canvas.  It looks like a solid if unspectacular low shoe for skating.  The frayed edges on the trim gives it a little bit more of a unique look, but it might not be for you.  Like a lot of the Nike SB shoes, it comes with grippy vulcanized sole.

Available at Premier.  More pics below.

Nike SB Stefan Janoski “Blood Stains” Halloween 2011

***UPDATE 3/30/11: I’ve been told that these are NOT VEGAN.  The inner lining is made out of suede.  How ass backwards is that?  Won’t that make you sweat even more?  Lame.  So lame.***

What’s up my VK mob, I hope everyone out there is doing good and staying positive, wherever you are.  I wanted to blast a quick one here, just because to be truthful, I’m not really feeling this particular shoe.  The Nike SB Stefan Janoski “Blood Stains,” for Halloween 2011, is a canvas (all vegan!) shoe in a sandy tan khaki color, and obviously, has blood stain patterns throughout.  You know, I don’t know how I feel about cos flooding the place with all these wacky colorways.  Maybe I’m too old for this sh*t, but I just like my kicks clean and simple.  What do you guys think?

If you want more pics, holler at High Snobiety.

*Shout out to Mike B. for hitting me up with the tweet on this.*

Nike SB Zoom FP

I just got the scoop from tall mike about these new Nike SB Zoom FP that are poised for release.  In my opinion, it’s a slight departure from the more retro models that’ve been working so well for them (i.e. Janoski, Salazar).  It’s a modern, even futuristic design – all synthetic materials, of course.  The colors are pretty muted, this one being black/gray/white/red.  It is probably geared more towards performance than anything, and the performance and all that R&D comes at a price, these are reported to be retailing for $104!  Keep your eye out for the release, and for new colorways.
